How long does a deletion take?

Deletion time depends on the total number of events across the calendars you have selected. WipeAway processes events in batches and shows a progress indicator so you can see how it is going.

Typical times

• Under 500 events — usually completes in under 30 seconds
• 500–2,000 events — typically 1–3 minutes
• 2,000–10,000 events — typically 5–15 minutes
• 10,000+ events — may take 20–30+ minutes for very large calendars

These are approximate — actual times can vary depending on Google's API response speed at any given moment.

Do I need to keep the browser open?

Yes — keep the WipeAway browser tab open and active until the deletion completes. The progress screen will show you a live count of events removed. When it reaches the total shown on the count screen, the deletion is complete.

On mobile, be particularly careful about this — some mobile browsers suspend background tabs, which can interrupt the deletion process. Keep the screen on and WipeAway in the foreground.

What if it seems to have stopped?

If the progress counter has not moved for several minutes, your internet connection may have dropped, or Google's API may be experiencing a temporary delay. Try refreshing the page and signing back in — WipeAway is designed to resume from where it stopped, so events that were already deleted will not be deleted again.
