What Google permissions does WipeAway need?

When you sign in to WipeAway for the first time, Google will ask you to grant two permissions. This page explains exactly what each one is, why it is needed, and what WipeAway does — and does not — do with it.

Permission 1: Google Calendar access

Scope: https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar

This permission allows WipeAway to read your list of calendars, count the events in a calendar, and delete the events you select. Calendar access is the entire purpose of WipeAway — without it, the application cannot function at all.

WipeAway uses this permission to:

• Show you the list of calendars on your Google account so you can choose which ones to clean
• Count the number of events before a date you specify, so you can review exactly what will be removed
• Delete the events you have selected, within the date range you chose

WipeAway does not use this permission to read event content, titles, descriptions, or attendee information. It only reads what is necessary to count and delete events.

Permission 2: Your Google account email address

Scope: https://www.googleapis.com/auth/userinfo.email

This permission allows WipeAway to read the email address associated with your Google account. It is used for one purpose only: to link your licence key to the correct Google account, so that your key cannot be shared with other users.

Your email address is never used for marketing, never stored in a marketing database, and never shared with any third party.

What WipeAway does not access

• Gmail — WipeAway has no access to your emails
• Google Drive — WipeAway has no access to your files
• Google Contacts — WipeAway has no access to your contacts
• Google Meet — WipeAway has no access to your meetings or calls
• Any other Google service not listed above

How to review permissions on your Google account

1. Go to myaccount.google.com/permissions
2. Find WipeAway for Google Calendar in the list
3. Click on it to see the exact permissions that have been granted
