What happens to recurring events?

WipeAway handles recurring events automatically — you do not need to treat them differently from regular events, or take any extra steps.

How recurring events are handled

When you set a cut-off date and run a deletion, WipeAway processes recurring event series intelligently:

• All occurrences of a recurring event that fall before your cut-off date are removed
• Occurrences that fall on or after your cut-off date are left untouched
• If a recurring series has already ended before your cut-off date, the entire series is removed
• If a recurring series continues after your cut-off date, only the past occurrences are removed — the series continues from your cut-off date onward

An example

You have a weekly team meeting that has been running every Monday for three years. You set a cut-off date of 1 January 2024. WipeAway removes all the Monday meetings that occurred before 1 January 2024. The Monday meetings from 1 January 2024 onward remain in your calendar, unchanged.

Why this is faster than deleting recurring events manually

In Google Calendar, deleting a recurring event series manually requires you to find each series individually and choose "delete all events" for each one. If you have dozens of recurring series built up over several years, this takes a significant amount of time and is easy to miss some.
