Resetting Seasonal Operations Calendars

WipeAway Guides·3 min read·Updated July 2026

Seasonal businesses and operations teams — retailers, hospitality venues, event companies, agricultural businesses, tourism operators — structure their Google Calendars around seasonal trading periods. At the end of each season, those calendars need to be reset for the next one.

Seasonal calendar patterns

Seasonal operations calendars typically contain:

  • Staff shift rotas for the seasonal period
  • Supplier delivery schedules
  • Operational review and planning meetings
  • Training and induction events for seasonal staff
  • Peak period planning events
  • End-of-season review and close-down events

End-of-season reset process

  1. Complete end-of-season reviews and close-down activities
  2. Export the operations calendar as an ICS archive for year-end reporting
  3. Set the cut-off date to the last day of the season
  4. Sign into wipeaway.app, select the operations calendar(s), and confirm
  5. The calendar is clean and ready for next season's planning to begin

Recurring seasonal events: If your operations calendar includes recurring events that span multiple seasons (weekly manager meetings, for example), WipeAway clears past instances while leaving future ones in place. You do not need to delete and recreate recurring events between seasons.

Multi-site operations

If your organisation operates multiple sites — each with its own operations calendar — WipeAway can process all site calendars in a single session. Select all the relevant calendars at the start of the session and process them together with the same seasonal cut-off date.
