Recurring events are one of the main reasons people use WipeAway — they are time-consuming to delete individually in Google Calendar and WipeAway handles them automatically. This guide explains exactly what happens and how to manage them effectively.
When you run a WipeAway deletion:
A weekly team meeting that has been running for 2 years and is still ongoing. You set a cut-off date of 1 January 2025. WipeAway removes all occurrences before 1 January 2025. The series continues — the meetings from 1 January 2025 onward are untouched.
Set your cut-off date far enough in the future to include all instances of the series. For a recurring event that ends next month, setting the cut-off date to next month's end date removes all instances, including future ones.
Be careful with future cut-off dates on active recurring series. If the series is still ongoing and you want to keep future meetings, set the cut-off date to today or a past date — not a future one.
