Can I delete events after a certain date instead of before?

WipeAway Help Centre·2 min read·Updated July 2026

WipeAway's cut-off date removes all events before that date. However, you can use this in reverse to target future or more recent events by setting your cut-off date further forward than you might expect.

The standard behaviour

Setting a cut-off date of 1 January 2024 removes all events before that date — everything from 31 December 2023 and earlier.

How to target future events

If you want to remove events after a certain date — for example, clearing all future bookings from a calendar you are retiring — set your cut-off date to a point far enough in the future to capture everything you want to remove. For example, setting a cut-off date of 31 December 2030 would capture all events up to and including that date.

Be careful when setting future dates. A cut-off date in the future will include events you might still need. Always review the event count carefully before confirming. Deleted events cannot be recovered.

If you want to delete only future events and keep past ones

This is not directly supported by a single WipeAway deletion, but you can achieve it in two sessions:

  1. First, export your calendar as a backup (Google Calendar → Settings → Import & Export → Export)
  2. Run WipeAway with a far-future cut-off date to remove everything
  3. Re-import only the past events from your exported ICS file

This approach requires care — contact us before attempting it if you are unsure.
