I'm getting an error when I try to count events

An error during the counting step is usually temporary and can be resolved by trying again or checking your account permissions.

Try again in a few minutes

Google's Calendar API occasionally experiences brief periods of slowness or unavailability. If you see a counting error, wait 2–3 minutes and try again before attempting anything else. Most transient API errors resolve on their own.

Check your calendar permissions

WipeAway can only count events on calendars where the signed-in account has edit access. If you are trying to count events on a calendar shown with a "View only" label, this will fail. Make sure you are signed in with an account that has edit access to the calendar you want to clean.

Sign out and sign back in

If your session has been running for a while, try signing out of WipeAway and signing back in. A fresh session with a new OAuth token sometimes resolves counting errors.

Try a different calendar first

If the error only occurs with one specific calendar, try counting events on a different calendar to see if the issue is calendar-specific. Some calendars with unusual configurations or very large numbers of events can occasionally trigger timeout errors on the first attempt.

Getting a specific error code or message? Contact us with the exact text of the error and the calendar you are trying to count — we can investigate specific API errors and provide a solution.

Large calendars

For calendars with tens of thousands of events, the counting step may take longer than usual. If the count appears to hang for more than 2 minutes, try refreshing the page and attempting the count again — the API sometimes needs a second attempt to process very large calendars successfully.
