If a shared calendar appears in WipeAway but cannot be selected, or if it shows a "View only" label, it means the Google account you are signed in with does not have edit permission on that calendar.
To delete events from a calendar, WipeAway needs to be able to write to it — specifically, to call Google's delete API on each event. This requires at minimum "Make changes to events" permission on the calendar. Read-only ("View only") access is not sufficient.
You need "Make changes to events" or "Make changes and manage sharing" to use WipeAway on that calendar.
Ask the calendar owner to update your permission:
Once permission is updated, sign out of WipeAway and sign back in — the calendar should now be selectable.
If you are a Workspace admin trying to clean a calendar that belongs to another user, you may need to grant yourself access via the Google Admin Console before signing into WipeAway. See our Workspace & IT guides for more detail on this process.
Holiday calendars and subscribed public calendars can never be given edit access — this is a Google restriction. These calendars will always appear as "View only" in WipeAway.
